Camping Unplanned!

It wasn’t until late afternoon that I, “decided” to go camping! I called my favourite campground in Red River Gorge, KY (Natural Bridge Campground, Slade, KY) and reserved 2 nights. Rain and darkening skies didn’t deter me, (sometimes I procrastinate and find reasons NOT to leave the comforts of home) and I got to my site (#35) at supper time…

An update, a new video, and Breakdown!

Summer has been extremely hot, (record-breaking too) and humid this year! I have been doing videos from home a lot – but there is another reason besides weather. My family has been in and out of hospitals this year and I needed to stay at home-base in case of unplanned road-trips!

I use 2 Power Stations. A 1000 watt, Baldr Pioneer, and a 350 watt, Rockpals. This video features the Baldr 1000 and a solar panel as well as some of the electric devices that can be used for stealthy cooking in my Van.

Pacifica is on a flatbed wrecker ! As of this post, I still don’t have it back. The evening of filming and posting the, “Stealthy Van Cooking” video we, (my Husband and I) decided to go shopping. After two attempts to start the Van, and it responding by, “shuddering” we discovered gas on the driveway… The next morning, calls were made to the original-purchase dealership, a nearby Chrysler Dealership , (service department), and AAA. The Van has been at Chrysler Service since Tuesday the 29th and will not come home for at least another week! The problem? The Fuel-line split along its seam. Parts are not readily available due to back-order so they have been ordered. Meanwhile, Pacifica is not home, and I am! 🙁

A new, 8 person tent!

I wanted to do an, “unboxing” of this tent with a follow-up.

Weather predictions were for 30% rain on Monday. I reserved a campsite in Taylorsville, KY for 4 days- Sunday through Wednesday. Rain and Thunderstorms started on Sunday afternoon, not clearing up until Wednesday! Oh well!
The tent stayed perfectly dry and cozy after I figured out placement of my gear, bedding, and creature comforts. It is by far the biggest tent I own at 13’X9′ ! I had a few visitors to my campsite, including one from a YouTube subscriber! 🙂
